santa barbara dream

Richard Powers is a great photographer, and especially for interiors. I love how he depicts this house in Fire Canyon, California. It’s already an amazing building situated on a beautiful lot,  but he is able to capture the drama of the location’s lighting really nicely, which highlights the beauty of the house even more. The contrast of the photos in full daylight with it amidst the heavy haze helps us understand why the building works the way it does. I can’t imagine having a house that fully opens like this! The interiors look so vulnerable, and yet I would really like to experience how it feels to be in a space like this. I certainly wouldn’t mind sitting in that reading room for the rest of the day :)
